We've Got Black Magic To Do

Sean San José, the visionary new artistic director of Magic Theatre has invited BACCE, the company founded by my artistic twin, Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe, to lead a residency at the legendary San Francisco theatre and this Wednesday, Nov 17 we kick off a new series called Black Magic! Pop-Up Pandemonium, where we create a new play with YOU.

What the heck does that mean, Rotimi?

Well, our experimental theatre company is exploring new ways of creating--inviting the community in earlier in the process and building new plays in collaboration with an engaged audience.

So this Wednesday we'll start off by performing some short pieces that inspire us and then we'll do improvisations and play-generating games with active audience input. We're embracing spontaneity, freedom, and the unpredictable magic that happens when people are in a room together. By the end of the Black Magic series we will have created a genre-defying new play with YOU!

I'm super excited about the possibilities and I hope you'll join us this Wednesday, Nov 17 at 7.30pm at Magic Theatre. The happening is free (with suggested donation) and you can register below. Masks and proof of vaccination required to attend.
