This Halloween On My So Called Acting Life

It's been a while since I've checked in with you and so much has happened in my so-called acting life. Highlights include seeing the San Francisco Mime Troupe through a fantastic summer season, teaching a summer theatre workshop for college students, and shooting commercials for Zoosk, Circle The Schools, and Nordstrom's. Summer has been wonderful and now we're approaching one of my favorite times of the year – Halloween!

I've got two Halloween projects I'm super excited about. The first is a show called “Tales From The Varley Mansion: The Brat Machine.” In this Halloween stage show, for children ages 6 and up, I play a singing, dancing zombie named Edward. I'm joined by a mad scientist and a ghost, played by fellow SF Mime Trouper Lisa Hori-Garcia, performing an original script and songs by Mime Troupe songwriter Ira Marlowe. The show opened last week, at The Monkey House in Berkeley, to sold out houses and audiences are loving its wit and the opportunities it provides for bratty audience participation. If you have any children in your life or are an adult who wants to connect with their inner brat please come check us out. We have two more shows this weekend both at 3pm on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26. The Monkey House, 1638 University Ave, Berkeley, CA. Tickets are $10. Make reservations at info@themonkeyhouse.org.

The next project is my Killer Thriller Halloween Dance Class. After successfully debuting it last Halloween, I'm bringing back my class in which I teach the choreography from Michael Jackson's Thriller. In this fun, hour and a half class I break down the steps from the music video so that anyone - regardless of their dance background - can learn how to bust them out and be the most popular kid at the Halloween party.

I'm offering two sessions of the class at 7.30pm on Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31 at the Alonzo King Lines Dance Center, 26 7th St, San Francisco, CA. The $25 fee gets you access to both sessions so you have two chances to practice your moves. I'd love to see all of you at class and hope that you'll bring all your friends with you. Please feel free to spread the word.

Visit http://killerthrillerdance.weebly.com for more info and check out this video flyer for the class, which features yours truly dancing Thriller among the neighborhood tombs: http://youtu.be/_6vXcF_RTB4

I wish you all a very Happy Halloween and a fantastic fall. I look forward to hearing about your exciting adventures.
